Wondering how the captain could keep so cool, Schultz and Muller let go their grip on the terrified Frenchman. Francis could only pant in reply.

“DECIDE!” yelled the captain, the gun pointing between Francis’s eyes. “Decide! Or pay the price with a penalty shot!”

“Schultz!” stammered Francis, not knowing or caring which one he had selected. “I choose Schultz.”

The captain made way. He got out of his chair and went round to the other side of the desk.
